Religious Education

St. John's celebrates a long-standing commitment to individual faith formation through its strong and varied religious education programs regardless of age. The mission of St. John's religious education is to bring people to know, love and serve the Lord. All efforts are made to ensure that all programs offer sound Catholic teaching in accord with the General Directory of Catechesis and other Church documents and tradition. Of special note is the significant number of people who generously give their gifts to this ministry - either as catechists, hall monitors or child care providers, facilitating scripture studies, planning and supervising youth ministry events, and most recently, on the St. John's Religious Education Advisory Committee (REAC) of the Education and Christian Formation Commission. REAC was formed two years ago to provide balanced focus on parish catechetical programs which occur outside our parish day school. Through its sub-committees, REAC offers advice and counsel to our pastor and department staff in the areas of catechesis. Despite being a relatively new facet of parish life, REAC has made significant strides as a partner in our parishioners' desire to continue their life-long faith journey.

Other scheduled programs include Adult CCD, a teaching Mass, Men’s Retreat Breakfast and Mother/Daughter Tea.  All are welcome to join the meetings each month.
