Religious Education Advisory Committee

St. John's Religious Education Advisory Committee (REAC) supports the efforts of our parish mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through advice and recommendations to the pastor, religious education staff and other parish committees with respect to on-going spiritual formation of our faith community, regardless of age.

REAC is comprised of six standing sub-committees:

  • Early Childhood Faith Formation whose mission is to welcome and to provide  preschool-aged children and their families faith formation in a nurturing and safe environment;
  • Youth Ministry whose mission is to challenge youth and young adults to come and encounter the living Jesus Christ, embrace and grow in faith, and come to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic Church;
  • Adult Faith Formation whose mission is to help adult parishioners deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and relationship with Christ and His church through prayer, sacraments, educational programs and fellowship to promote a life-long journey of faith;
  • Enrollment & Curriculum whose mission is to support all Religious Education committees as they envision additional and enhanced programming to better meet the needs of our parish and to follow enrollment trends;
  • RE Policy which reviews and makes recommendations regarding policies governing the operation of REAC and the Religious Education program as a whole;
  • RE Finance whose efforts support the parish's financial needs relating to Religious Education including the review of tuition policies, preparation of tuition proposals, monitoring budgets and department salaries and compensation

Each REAC sub-committee is represented on REAC, which meets monthly (see RE calendar). All REAC meetings are open to parishioners; however, to be added to the agenda, it is necessary to contact the REAC chair at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
