The Music Ministry at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church exists to praise, reverence, and serve the Lord through beautiful music that points towards heaven.
All that we do is for the glorification of God and the sanctification of the faithful.
Cantor: the cantor’s primary role is to intone the chants of the mass and lead the congregation in song. Cantors should be familiar with reading music and able to pick up new tunes quickly.
Choir: The Parish Choir sings twice a month and on feasts, solemnities, and Holy Days.
Bell choir: the bell choir prepares music for All Souls Day, Christmas, and Easter. This ensemble practices once a week leading up to the mass they are preparing for.
If you are interested in being a part of the music ministry, contact Director of Music Brenda Sevcik at [email protected]
The Parish Choir practices on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30PM in the church. Anyone from 8th grade-adult is welcome to join. Prior experience in a choir is not required! New members are welcome to join at any time. Please email Brenda Sevcik, Director of Music, at [email protected], if you are interested in joining the choir.
