Every parent/guardian of children attending St. John the Baptist Catholic School is a member of our Parent Teacher Association. Our mission is to provide support, community-building events, activities and fundraisers that enrich the educational experiences of the St. John’s community.
New parents are paired with Mentor Families. This is a support function of the PTA as a helpful tool for new parents and families entering St. John's that may have questions throughout their first year at SJB.
To achieve our mission, we rely heavily on volunteers. There are many ways to volunteer your time, talent and treasure at our school. The most up to date information regarding opportunities and events will be noted in the PTA section of the weekly school newsletter, where there will frequently be a SignUpGenius link included. SignUpGenius is an easy tool we use for signing up to help, contribute or volunteer.
Remember, some PTA volunteer opportunities are as simple as dropping off food for a teacher meal, or as involved as organizing a larger event such as the Marathon fundraiser. There are also occasions where teachers or staff need help (doing homework copies, re-shelving library books or assisting during lunch/recess). Again, keep an eye on the newsletter or contact your teacher directly for more information.
There is a place for everyone, and everyone has a place. To find out more about volunteer opportunities and how you can help strengthen our St. John’s community, email the PTA. Join our PTA Facebook group HERE.
