All students of St. John the Baptist Catholic School are required to wear the school uniform during the school day. Parents are responsible for assuring their child(ren) is/are appropriately dressed. Occasionally students are exempt from the dress code because of an out-of-uniform day, Spirit Wear day, or because they have received out-of-uniform passes. Dress code infractions will result in detention after a first written warning. Administration reserves the right to have students remove or cover clothing and accessories deemed distracting to the educational process.
All white shirts must be plain with no visible label or insignia printed on or showing through the shirt.
Plain white blouses with Peter Pan collar, white long- or short-sleeved polo shirt (including banded bottom polo), or white turtleneck.
It is recommended that 4th- and 5th-grade girls wear a white or beige undergarment under white shirts.
Navy blue or maroon polo shirt with our school emblem.
Navy blue dress pants (cords or twill) without outside patches, pockets, or loops (slit style pockets only)
Navy blue dress shorts without outside patch pockets or loops. Shorts must be at the top of the knee or longer.
Grade K-3 girls: Plaid jumper with the hemline at top of the knee or longer.
Starting in 4th grade skirt/split skirt may be worn. The hemline must be at the top of the knee or longer.
Navy blue cardigan sweaters or sweater vests (not required but optional).
All socks (including knee highs) must be navy blue, black, or white.
Tights must be navy blue or white.
Leggings must be navy blue, and must be worn with ankle length white or navy blue socks.
If not wearing tights or leggings, navy blue knit biker style shorts must be worn under skirts and jumpers.
Navy blue or maroon St. John’s sweatshirts worn over a visible collared shirt or turtleneck.

Students may not use out-of-uniform passes on church days (i.e. Mass, Penance Service, Living Rosary, etc).
The Principal may occasionally issue individual students out-of-uniform passes for contributions they make to the school. Out-of-uniform passes are issued on an individual basis and must be signed and dated by a teacher on the day the pass is used. Students must keep the pass with them throughout the school day. Out-of-uniform passes are good for the current school year only.
Students may wear dress-up clothing or jeans. Jeans must be in good condition without holes. Leggings and yoga pants are not allowed. Shorts must be at the top of the knee or longer.
T-shirts with alcohol or tobacco logos, or offensive or inappropriate language/designs, will not be acceptable.

Hemlines on shorts and skirts must be at the top of the knee or longer.
Students are urged to practice the virtue of modesty when using an out-of-uniform pass or enjoying an out-of-uniform day. Administration reserves the right to determine if out-of-uniform attire is acceptable.
On Spirit Wear days students may wear St. John’s apparel that is not part of the regular school uniform (i.e. Marathon t-shirt, sport uniform warm-ups, band shirts, Spirit Wear, etc.).

St. John the Baptist Catholic School sweatshirts are available all year in the school office. (Youth Size $22.00/Adult Size $24.00. Middle School ½ zip sweatshirts $27.00 Youth/$30.00 Adult.)
Shirts are to be worn tucked in unless student is wearing the banded bottom polo.
Skirts, shirts, and sleeves may not be rolled.
Shoes must be secured at all times and have a closed toe (no clogs, Crocs, Birkenstocks, sandals, flip-flops, slippers, etc.).
Hats are not to be worn in school.
Colored hair that is not a natural color is not allowed.
Only ears may be pierced (no other body piercing is allowed).
All articles of clothing are to be clean with no tears or holes even on out of uniform days.
