St. John’s welcomes the active participation and involvement of parents, grandparents, parish members, and high school students in all its activities. We respect parents as the primary educators of their children and support parents in that role. We offer you and your child high academic standards, faith and values-centered curriculum, and a safe, secure environment conducive for learning. We are committed to teaching your child in a way that provides them with a life-long faith and academic foundation.
Classrooms have parent volunteers to coordinate special activities. Some parents read or practice basic skills with small groups of children, many supervise field trips, and some volunteer to help with whole-class projects and events. We encourage our parents and community leaders to share career and life experiences that correlate with class work throughout the school year.
We are very blessed to have an active group of parents at St. John’s. We hope that all new families help us continue this long tradition. Dedicated parents are one the cornerstones of our school’s success. There are several opportunities to get involved at St. John’s. Each parent is given a volunteer form to complete at the beginning of the year or upon registration. Here are some examples of how you can become involved at St. John’s:
If you KNOW where you'd like to volunteer but need help getting pointed in the right direction, fill out this simple form:
According to Archdiocesan risk management guidelines, ALL adults who have contact with children must pass a background check. Also, VIRTUS training is required for all volunteers. Please find the steps to follow on the Safe Environments page found HERE.
